Burberry celebrates the Chinese New Year with a dedicated advertising campaign.
Today the release of Burberry Chinese New Year advertising campaign featuring two famous Chinese actresses.
Burberry advertising campaign for the Chinese New Year is visible from today on all the online platforms of the brand. Ethan James Green is director and photographer of the campaign. The cast is instead composed by the Asian actresses Zhao Wei and Zhou Dongyu.
The two actress are the last celebrities enlisted by the British brand and they have been chosen among Chinese high-profile stars. Indeed Burberry has before hired Naomi Campbell and Kristin Scott Thomas for previous year holiday advertising campaign.
Zhao Wei is a leading actress rose to success since her participation in My Fair Princess TV show. After that Wei has been involved both in movies and TV series and she has also become a popular pop star in China.
Zhou Dongyu instead has become famous later, with the role in the film Under the Hawthorn Tree that was a truly hit in cinema. Since then Zhou keeps receiving wide acclaim for all her acting and she is now one of the most requested actress in China.
It is still unknow if Burberry campaign rides the wave of the symbolic animal of 2019, the pig, as already done by Alessandro Michele for Gucci Spring/Summer collection.
Riccardo Tisci‘s entry into Burberry increased the British fashion brand buzz, especially on social networks and this new advertising campaign confirms the desire of the fashion house to continue on this path also in 2019.
